To be "Hawaii Act 104 compliant" in 2026, a sunscreen must strictly exclude oxybenzone and octinoxate. These two chemical filters are banned statewide from sale and distribution because they can contribute to coral bleaching and marine ecosystem damage.
NOTE: Maui County and Hawaii Island (The Big Island) ONLY allow a mineral-based sunscreen (Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide). For these locations, use our mineral SPF 50 lotion.
